The Gem Lakes Recreation Association
The GEM Lakes Recreation Association - formerly the GEM Lakes Estates Association, Inc. - affairs are managed by its Board of Directors, in accordance with the Association Bylaws. The Board is made up of eight elected volunteer members that serve a two-year term. Four members are elected annually. The Board has four officers President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. The Board created the compensated position of Recreation Area Manager and retains the services of an Accountant. Annually, during the swim season, the Board hires no less than five lifeguards for the swimming lake, a swimming instructor, and a tennis instructor and secures a volunteer Tennis Program Coordinator.

Dues
The Association levies dues on each property within GEM Lakes in accordance with the Association Bylaws. The current rate is $156. The Association Accountant maintains the Associations member list and mails bills for the annual dues in March of each year. A discount of 5 percent is provided for on time payment of dues. If you have not received your dues notification for the past year please contact the Association Accountant to discuss the matter.
The dues assessment is determined by the Association Bylaws every five years and are linked to the Consumer Price Index. The current assessment was implemented during the 2004 season.
