It's Spooky to Be Hungry
Join Gem Lakes' It's Spooky to be Hungry food drive.
We will stop at every neighborhood home on Saturday, October 24, 2009 between 9:00 AM and Noon.
WE ARE ASKING FOR DONATIONS OF:
NON-PERISHABLE, COMMERCIALLY PREPARED FOOD, WITH A SPECIAL REQUEST
FOR CANNED FRUITS, CANNED VEGETABLES, CANNED MEATS AND PASTA.
****We cannot accept baby food or formula as donations***
WE GRATEFULLY ACCEPT MONETARY DONATIONS.
Every penny you donate goes only to purchase food. For every $1 donated, our local food bank will distribute, nearly $7 of food to the needy.
SO...
$10 donated = nearly $70 worth of food distributed.
$100 donated = nearly $700 worth of food distributed!
Please make out all tax-deductible checks to Golden Harvest Food Bank.

ALL proceeds are donated to the Golden Harvest Food Bank.
It's Spooky to be Hungry is an independent, grassroots, all-volunteer food drive dedicated to helping fight hunger and strengthening our communities. Last year with the help of over 412 neighborhoods, schools, churches and businesses throughout the CSRA we were able to donate over 114,973 pounds of food and $57,297 to needy seniors, children and families!
In 2003, Spooky was nationally recognized as one of the ten best volunteer projects for Make A Difference Day.

GLOW is a nonprofit organization of adult female residents of the GEM Lakes Estates community.
We are dedicated to improving the appearance of the neighborhood, welcoming new residents and keeping our membership abreast of community issues and events. GLOW works in cooperation with the Gem Lakes Recreation Association but is a separate and independent entity. The President of GLOW serves as a liaison to the Gem Lakes Recreation Association Board of Directors Meetings.
